Opening Scene Ideas
We decided to brainstorm so ideas for our opening scene to give us inspiration for the rest of the music video and this is the idea we came up with.
At the beginning we will have an establishing shot of the church. Then the artist will be revealed walking into the church for her friends funeral. No one else has attended the funeral and the artist is alone. As the artist walks into the church she picks up a funeral programme off the floor without looking at it. There is a quick shot of the programme but the identity of who has passed away isn't revealed yet. The artist will continue to walk down the aisle of the church and sit on a pew several rows back from the front of the church. No music is playing yet. You can just hear the footsteps of the artist. Then the artist will look at the funeral programme to reveal the name and identity of the deceased. As she turns it over it has the words 'heaven couldn't wait for you" which is lyrics to the song which we decided to add in to contrast between the lyrics and the narrative.
